The vacation apartment »Casa Sillanova« is the upper floor of our house in Lomba de São Pedro, São Miguel island, Azores.
Access to the apartment across a bridge and completely independent from the rest of the house.
Total area approx.
70 m² (754 ft²)
plus approx. 25 m² (270 ft²) terrace. The exterior walls are 2 m (6'7) high, despite the sloping roof, so that the entire floor space is available.
Two bedrooms with sea view: One with double bed (180x200 cm - 5'11 x 6'7) and one with two single beds (90x195 cm - 2'11 x 6'5) for up to four persons. The rooms will not be rented out separately.
More than 30 m² (323 ft²) living and dining area with 2 sofas; one of them convertible into a sofa bed.
About 12 m² (129 ft²) kitchen area. Equipped with refrigerator incl. large freezer, ceramic hob (3 plates), grill / bake combination, coffee maker, toaster, kettle and extractor hood. There is also coffee, tea, sugar, salt, Piri-Piri, vinegar and oil, as well as a cool box with thermal packs.
Bathroom with window (frosted glass), hairdryer, sink, shower, toilet, hand soap and large wall shelf for toiletries, as well as a small anteroom for laundry basket, cleaning utensils, laundry rack and towels.
Towels for kitchen and bathroom, and bed linen included. Mobile electric heaters are provided in winter.
Car parking directly by the house, next to the terrace. On request, or for more than one vehicle, also in the driveway.
If necessary, our washing machine, tumble dryer and of course the clothesline in the patio can be shared.
The garden is available for recreation at any time (sunbathing, reading, having a drink in the evening, watching bats at sunset) and fresh kitchen herbs can be picked. The barbecue in the patio may also be shared.
Wi-Fi, LAN and TV
Two pairs of hiking poles are available. There is also a comprehensive info folder with suggestions for sightseeing tours by car, numerous hikes, swimming spots, picnic areas and restaurants. For each described hike there is a printout to take along.
Fresh, rustic white bread can be purchased Mon-Fri around 9am and Sundays around 8am directly from the baker's cart at the front door. Every Friday, there are additional sweet pastries, such as
Quéijadas
(little cakes) or
Bolos lêvedos
(lard-baked, slightly sweet yeast dough rolls).
As a special service we offer to buy food in the supermarket for your first breakfast at Casa Sillanova, if wanted. In case you arrive on a late flight, you don't have to give up your usual breakfast. If you want to take advantage of this, just let us know what you want to have in the fridge and we will get it for you at cost price.
